The MAAF Foundation will award grants up to twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500) each year to grow agricultural knowledge of fair patrons during the time frame of the fair.


New Grant Program announced and opened at MAAF Annual Meeting in January 2026.
1. Any Licensed Maine Agricultural Fairs that has not been awarded these funds in the previous 3 years. Only one application per fair annually will be reviewed.
2. Funded projects must grow agricultural knowledge of fair patrons during the time frame of the fair. Monies can be used for purchase of materials or services but cannot fund the administrative costs of the project.
1. Grants are not transferable
2. Application Deadline: Applications must be completed and submitted by March 15 for Current Year.
3. Application should be completed and mailed to: MAAF Foundation, 8 Caston Road, Pittston, ME. 04345 or Emailed to: info@MAAFfound.com
4. Applications will be reviewed by committee and approved by April 15th.
5. Monies will be available/awarded to awardees by May 1st or reimbursed by end of year.
6. Reporting: Awardees must report back at the following year's MAAF Annual Meeting on their project completion, success and challenges. Include photos, videos and/or examples of your project.
7. Application: Please complete our application either online, by mail or email to the information provided above. If additional space is needed to provide detailed information, please attach a separate sheet of paper. Please ensure your fair name is on each additional sheet.
1. Practicality & Scope (20 points) Tell us what your project is. Include details about how you see it connecting with fair goers, about where this idea came from, how long your fair has been attempting to get this project to fruition and what other means (if any) you’ve used unsuccessfully or if this is a new endeavor this year - provide what stage of the project are you in, where else have you looked for money
2. Sustainability (10 points) Tell us how this project will be utilized and cared for in years to come
3. Team (10 Points) Tell us who is working on your project within your fair and their roles
4. Collaboration (20 points) Tell us who is helping with your project outside of your fair (organizations, funding sources, service providers)
5. Budget (10 points) Break down the estimated costs for us and show how grant funds will be used vs other funds.
6. Schedule & Timeline (10 points) Awarded funds must be used for projects this fair season so tell us how you will accomplish the project to be ready for your fair dates.
7. Impacts (20 Points) Tell us what success looks like for this project at your fair.
