The MAAF Foundation will be granting $2,500 grants to attend the International Association of Agricultural Fairs Annual Convention. The grants are to help reduce the costs of registration, airfare and accommodations.

Guidelines and Eligibility

1. Applicant must be actively involved in a Maine Agricultural Fair (board member, staff member or volunteer). Preference will be given to first time attendees of the IAFE Convention or who have not attended in the past 3 years.

Procedure

1. Scholarships are not transferable

2. Application Deadline:
If the application is being emailed (or using the online application) it must be time-stamped by midnight on July 15 If the application is mailed it must be postmarked by July 15 Late applications may not be considered.

Selection Process

1. The MAAF Foundation IAFE Scholarship Committee will choose the recipients of the scholarships based on the information included in the application.

2. Applications will undergo a “blind judging” process to ensure impartiality. Successful applicants will be notified directly by the committee, by August 1.

Recipient Responsibilities: 

The scholarship recipient is expected to attend the IAFE Annual Convention in its entirety. Receipts for eligible expenses must be submitted within 30 days following the Convention for reimbursement, up to the determined scholarship amount. The recipient will be required to provide a brief written report (e.g. 500-750 words) to the MAAF Foundation outlining their convention experiences, key takeaways and how they plan to implement new ideas and/or share information with their fair. The recipient is encouraged to serve as an ambassador for the MAAF Foundation and Maine Agricultural Fairs
